Scope and Contents
Contains the following plays: (i) 'The Poacher', circa l960 (folio l). A revised version, which differs from that published by the ‘Scots Magazine’ (Glasgow, 1927). For proofs of this version, see MS.26498, folio ll. (ii) 'Requiescat', circa l945 (folio 26); (iii) 'Return to Glenfillie: a Scots comedy', undated (folio 43). Originally entitled 'The New Broom'. (iv) 'Saint Kirsty', 1958 (folio 75); (v) 'There was a Lad', undated (folio l06). Two plays with the same title, on the subject of Robert Burns. (vi) 'To-night we present ...', a farce, circa l955 (folio l51); (vii) 'The Turn of the Tide', undated (folio l76). The title was originally 'A Man with a Past', and the plot is closely related to that play (cf. MS.26494, folio l).
