Scope and Contents
The papers include the continuation of several articles from earlier volumes, and notes on published works. Among the more important essays are 'Of the origin and formation of the Greek language' (folio 2), 'Homerus historicus' (folio 23 verso), 'Of the progress of the mind in the formation of general ideas' - Monboddo number 18, (folio 55 verso), 'Of geometrical analysis and synthesis' (folio 87), and 'Of musick ancient and modern' (folio 131). The volume is referred to by Lord Monboddo as ‘Folio MS. 11’.
