Some of the correspondence was published by William Knight, ‘Lord Monboddo and some of his contemporaries’ (London, 1900), and in the Appendix to the ‘Sixth Report of the Royal Commission on Historical Manuscripts’ (London, 1877), pages 673-678. Except for the letter of Philip Thicknesse (MS.24504, folio 13), the correspondence described in the Appendix to the 'Fourth Report of the Commission on Historical Manuscripts' (London, 1874), pages 518-520, is missing from the collection.
