The notebook contains the text of a work entitled 'Heredity' (folio i), possibly an article for an encyclopaedia (cf folios 29, 40-41); at folio 77 is a draft bibliography (repeated and completed at folio 45). Some of the otherwise blank leaves have been used for a work entitled 'Selection (mathematical theory)' (folio 50) and 'Some reflexions (sic) on materialism' (folio 53).

Some of the leaves (folio 46-49 recto, 64, 66-75) remain blank.

'Heredity' is undated, the other papers appear to have been written between 1925 and 1928 (folios 54, 56, 58-59).
