The title, 'Map of Africa traced from an atlas entitled "ATLAS SIVE GEOGRAPHIA COMPENDIOSA IN QUA ORBIS TERRARUM PAUCIS ATTAMEN NOVISSIMIS TABULIS OSTENDITUR AMSTERDAM no date', is in the hand of James Augustus Grant. He further notes that 'Copies of the atlas are in the possesion of W Culbard Esq. North Lodge Elgin and the Rev. James Cooper, Broughty Ferry'.
