Scope and Contents
The contents are as follows.
(i) Financial papers of and concerning Sir Robert Dickson of Carberry, 1710-1746 (folio 1). Lord Milton was one of the trustees of his creditors.
(ii) Papers of and concerning Frances Dunlop, daughter of Francis Dunlop of Dunlop, 1757-1761 (folio 82). She was Lady Milton's niece and Lord Milton was her executor.
(iii) Papers, mostly financial, of and concerning Mary Home (sister and creditor of Sir John Home of Manderston; see MS.17729) and her husband John Ferguson, glover burgess of Edinburgh, 1740-1754, undated (folio 99). Lord Milton was their creditor.
