Papers of the family of Fletcher of Saltoun concerning various properties in Edinburgh., 1612-1889.
Scope and Contents
To about 1750 the properties concerned are in or off the High Street, rented as town accommodation by Lord Innerpeffer, Sir Robert Fletcher and his widow, and Lord Milton. After that date most of the papers deal with Milton House and associated land in the Canongate; those of the nineteenth century largely concern the leasing and feuing of that land (on this there is more material in the Saltoun factors' correspondence, MSS.17282-17344, and in MS.16801.
