Typed documents, chiefly copies and extracts of letters, of William Marshall and his family., 1790-1817.
Scope and Contents
The contents are as follows:
(i) ‘Connected narrative with extracts from the letters 1790-1815’ being a narrative of the military services of William Marshall's sons with copies and extracts of their letters to one another and their father, covering the years 1790 to 1815 (folio 1);
(ii) ‘Letters written when on service, to his friends at home, by William Marshall, 1795-1818’ being transcripts and a few extracts of letters of William Marshall (subsequently Lieutenant-Colonel) to his father, brothers and sister (folio 100);
(iii) ‘Letters and memorials of Captain John Marshall’, an incomplete collection of transcripts of letters of John Marshall 1803-1807 to his sister and his father (folio 261).
