Eighteenth century copy of letters to, or about, various members of the Mure of Rowallan family, by Sir Hew Dalrymple., 1493-1631, undated.
Scope and Contents
Of forty-seven items, thirty-two are copies of originals in the National Library, the originals being MS.3813, folio 1, MS.6318, folios 7, 10, Ch.2042-2043, and Adv.MS.54.1.7 (1-8, 10-12, 14-21, 23-30). For Adv.MS.54.1.7, the principal correspondents of which are Mary, Queen of Scots, and John Mure of Rowallan, see a descriptive article by Walter Seton of Abercorn in ‘The Scots Magazine’, August, 1925. The remaining fifteen items, numbered as in the volume, are:

Inserted at the beginning of the volume (folio 1) is a letter of Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe on the identification of item 47.
