Scope and Contents
The papers consist of the following: (i) Family financial and legal papers, 1697-1732, of the Marquess and Marchioness of Tweeddale (folio 1); (ii) Draft, circa 1694, in the hand of the 3rd Marquess of Tweeddale, endorsed: 'Draught of a paper for securing the jewel of the family' (folio 19); (iii) Legal and financial papers, 1699-1739, undated, including accounts, relating to the claim of Susan, Marchioness of Tweeddale and the 4th Marquess of Tweeddale on the Dundonald estate (folio 20); (iv) Miscellaneous papers, 1702-1715, undated (folio 147).
