The contents are as follows.
(i) 'State of things... 1696', by Duncan Forbes, 3rd of Culloden, printed in ‘Culloden papers’ (London, 1815), page 317 (folio 1);
(ii) 'Ane account of the familie of Innes', by the same, in his autograph, ?1698; a draft of a portion, corresponding to MS.2970, folios 285-292 (folio 25);
(iii) 'Chamberland Compt Book of Farintosh, cropt 1705', etc. (folio 45);
(iv) Modern copies of letters of Lord President Forbes and others to David Ross of Kindeace, 1733-1734, and his wife Grisel Forbes, 1737-1747; printed, with slight variations, in D Murray Rose, ‘Some Kindeace letters’, (Dingwall, [1896]) (folio 55);
(v) James Thomson, ‘Summer’ (London, 1727), printed pages 9-24 (folio 115).
