Correspondence of Patrick Geddes and Sir Frank Mears, his son-in-law., 1908-1932.
Scope and Contents
As an architect, Frank Mears assisted Patrick Geddes in many of his town-planning projects, and the letters deal with the main schemes in which both were involved. Letters of 1910-1911 discuss the arrangements for the Cities and Town-Planning Exhibition; and those of 1919-1922, the University of Jerusalem for which Mears was the architect. Dublin schemes are also touched on in letters of 1922, and reference is made to various town-planning schemes in Edinburgh. The need for a National Library is also mentioned in connection with Edinburgh.
