Note.
Folios 59-60. Letter, 19 August 1808, to “Dr Alexr Mackay”. Given the nature of the letter, an account for “46 sliding rule”, and that it was sent to George Street, London, it is probable that “Alexr” is a mistake, and that the addressee was Dr Andrew Mackay (1758-1809), of George Street, London, teacher of navigation.
