Scope and Contents
Letters, 1819-1834, of John Wright to John Murray II and John Murray III, with related letters. Many of the letters concern his work as literary editor for various Murray editions, including works of Byron and Crabbe. There is also mention of his work on Boswell’s “Life of Johnson” and on parliamentary speeches. There is reference to his work on “The beauties of Cobbett” and his legal battle with William Cobbett. The letters are arranged in chronological order.
