Letters to John Murray, publishers, of Charles Wilson., 1885-1893.
Scope and Contents
The letters are to John Murray III, John Murray IV and Hallam Murray. They concern mostly the revision of the “Handbook for travellers in Constantinople, Brûsa and the Troad” (1893), and the preparation and publication of the “Handbook for travellers in Asia Minor, Transcaucasia, Persia, etc.” (1895), both edited by Charles Wilson. Also mentioned is Wilson’s article,“England and Egypt in the Sudan”, which was published in the “Quarterly Review”, October 1885, and his involvement in the preparation of the second edition of William Smith’s “A dictionary of the Bible” (1893) [Notes 2-3].

[Note 2.] Folio 42. Forwarding note, 14 November [1891], of John Fuller to either John Murray IV or Hallam Murray enclosing a letter, 12 November 1891, of Charles Wilson to Fuller (folios 43-44). Wilson’s letter concerns the second edition of “A dictionary of the Bible”.
