Scope and Contents
The letters are to John Murray III, John Murray IV and to Hallam Murray. They concern, among other subjects, the publication of various essays by Ernest Gambier Parry, including “The Combat with suffering” (1891) and “Day-dreams” (1895). On a personal level they refer to Parry’s acquaintanceship with John Murray IV from their time at Eton.
