Ollivant, Alfred (1874-1927).
Letters, 1901-1918, of Alfred Ollivant to John Murray IV. The letters mostly concern the preparation and publication of the English edition of “Danny: the story of a Dandie Dinmont” (1903), and other publishing proposals. Ollivant’s letter, 26 June 1904, enquires whether Murray would consider publishing the poet Evangeline Ryves, whom Ollivant considered to have “the true stuff of poetry in her”.

* Mention is made in “The London Literary Gazette, and Journal of Belles Lettres, Arts, Sciences, Etc.” of the 2 November 1822 (page 697, columns 1-2) of the purchase by Bossange of the Napoleon manuscripts and that an English edition was to be issued in December of that year.
