Scope and Contents
Letters, 1871-1909, of Theodore Martin to John Murray III and John Murray IV, with two letters of Helena Martin and related letters and papers. The letters of Theodore Martin concern his reading of, and writing for, the "Quarterly Review", with discussion of literary and political matters; they also relate to his “A life of Lord Lyndhurst” published by Murray, with reference to works published elsewhere, including “The life of His Royal Highness the Prince Consort”. The letters are arranged in chronological order under both correspondents.
