Letters to John Murray, publishers, of Wilhelm Gruner.
Letters, 1850-1865, of Wilhelm Gruner, also known as Lewis Gruner, to John Murray III. The letters concern illustrative and engraving work of Gruner’s for Murray publications, and also his work “Illustrations of the brick and terra-cotta buildings of Lombardy: fourteenth and fifteenth centuries”. The letters show evidence of a strong friendship between the Gruner and Murray families. The letters are arranged in chronological order. An additional letter has been added to the end of the sequence.
