Identifier: MS.40386
Scope and Contents
The letters are to John Murray IV and Hallam Murray. It seems that Evans worked for the Murrays in both an editorial and in an advisory capacity, particularly for works relating to Classics and religion. Evans had also a keen interest in the history of the Napoleonic Wars, particularly in the Battle of Waterloo, to which the letters contain references.
The letters are arranged chronologically.
1900: folios 1-62;
1901: folios 63-153;
1902: folios 154-255.
