Letters to John Murray, publishers, of Charles Evans., 1895-1899.
Scope and Contents
The letters are to John Murray IV and Hallam Murray. Evans, in retirement, undertook work for the Murrays both in an editorial and in an advisory capacity, particularly on works relating to Classics and religion. Evans was interested in the history of the Napoleonic Wars, particularly in the Battle of Waterloo, to which the letters contain references.
