Letters, 1900-1928, of John Cooke to John Murray IV and Hallam Murray, with related letters and papers. They concern a further revision of Shaw’s “History of English literature”, also of the “Handbook for travellers in Ireland”, with mention of “Elementary geography for Irish schools”. There is discussion and advice on educational books for Ireland, and also Cooke’s views on the political situation in Ireland, including during the First World War. The letters are arranged in chronological order.
