Scope and Contents
The volume contains an account of the Battle of Salamanca, 22 July 1812, and a detailed description of 42nd Royal Highlanders stationing in Valladolid.
Contained at the start of the memoirs is a map of Spain and Portugal highlighting geographical regions, and an engraving of the Duke of Wellington.
There are four pages of sketches contained in the volume depicting the native Spaniards and their dress.
Included at the back of the volume is a list of the places visited and cumulative totals of the distances traveled by the army during its deployment in this period.
