(i) The Marriage Articles, 1558, of Mary Queen of Scots and François II of France, signed by Jacques Bourdin, Cosme Clausse, and Claude de l`Aubespine. This is the official and attested copy of the articles read and signed on the day of the betrothal. The articles are printed in ‘Acts of the Parliament of Scotland’, volume 2, pages 511-513.
(ii) `Memoire des affaires d`escosse pour diceulx estre escript a n[?]e s[?] pere le pape de la part du Roy daulphin [François II] et Royne daulphine [Mary Queen of Scots] soubs le bon plaisir et intencion du Roy`, praying the Pope to join with them in helping the Queen Regent of Scotland with money to resist and punish the guilty before all hope is lost of restoring the Church in Scotland without universal bloodshed, 1558-1559, signed with an official cipher.
