Scope and Contents

The contents are as follows: (i) Proofs of the first nine poems contained in John Caie's book of verse ‘The kindly north’ and of the poems in ‘Twixt hills and sea’ (folio 1); (ii) Manuscripts and typescripts of poems published in Scottish magazines and newspapers, 1936-1948, and also the manuscript of 'The Piper' which was included in ‘Twixt hills and sea’ (folio 26); (iii) Typescripts, undated, of apparently unpublished poems (folio 38); (iv) Cuttings of poems, 1932-1949, undated, and two lists of poems stating where published (folio 64).
