Journals of Alexander Turnbull Christie kept during his travels in Europe., 1821, 1829.
Scope and Contents
In 1821 Alexander Turnbull Christie was in Savoy and the south-west of Switzerland, and his journal (folio 1) consists largely of descriptions of the scenery. In June 1829, he was studying in Paris, and the following August he travelled to Italy to join Leopold von Buch and J B Élie de Beaumont (see also MS.9492). His journal (folio 32) records his daily activities with particular reference to his scientific interests.
