The manuscript was presented to the Advocates’ Library in 1875 by John Cowan, Edinburgh (grandson of Mary Adair or Cameron, grand-daughter of William Adair, minister of Ayr).

Separated Materials

Two cuttings from the ‘Ayr Advertiser’, 1874, originally kept with the document, the second of which has a complete list of local signatures, are now Adv.MS.20.6.17(B).
