Biographical / Historical

In 1972 John Hinde left the RAF and became the Chief Expeditions Officer on the training schooner, 'Captain Scott'. The schooner operated between the Outward Bound establishments of the Moray Sea School at Burghead, and the Loch Eil Centre near Fort William. The adventure and training courses involved a month-long sail and activities for young people around the west and north of the Highlands and Islands, with three land-based expeditions led by Hinde.
