Letters of W B Yeats to Sir Herbert John Clifford Grierson., 1907-1935.
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of twelve holograph letters and three signed typewritten letters with some manuscript corrections. Each letter has a typewritten transcript.
In the letters Yeats discusses his work in the Irish theatre, Irish politics, English literature, and his own poetry, as well as more trivial and personal matters.
A description of one of Yeats's visits to Edinburgh, circa 1919, when he stayed with the Grierson family, may be found in a series of the letters of Mrs Grierson to her husband (MS.9347, folios 76-81).
