Scope and Contents
The letters of John Thomson are chiefly to his second wife, and cover the periods he spent abroad, visiting hospitals in 1814 (cf. MS.9235), and studying the treatment of the wounded after the battle of Waterloo. The correspondence of William Thomson is on family affairs.
