Custodial History
The Photostats were bought by the National Library of Scotland with the aid of the Reid Fund.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Bought, 1953, copies made with permission of the owner, Sandeman Library, Perth, through the good offices of Harry Willcher.
Existence and Location of Originals
The originals are inserted in a copy of the third edition of ‘Cantus’ by John Forbes' father, also John Forbes (died 1675), now in the Sandeman Library, Perth. They were presumably intended for a later edition which did not appear.
