Notebook was begun on 1 February 1957 and completed circa 9 December 1963. Annotation on title page reads as 'The Inimitable. Vol. I. or possibly The Wine Cellar or Sketches of Boz. 1st Feb - 10th April.' [?alternative titles for the play] Notebook includes dialogue excerpts, and accompanying editorial notes by the author. Also present is an inserted letter to Edith Simon from her sister Inge Goodwin in which she discusses family news and her thoughts on recently seeing Gregory Peck in the film, Moby Dick (5 February 1957). The majority of the material appears to relate to 'The Inimitable', however the final 9 pages, dating from 1963, may relate to another writing project, referred to as 'M&M' [?Manners & Morals' novel]
