Biography

Gloria Findlay was a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain and contested the Redbridge Borough Council elections in 1971, for the Ilford Ward, but was unsuccessful. She married Patrick James Devine in 1959 and the couple remained together until his death in 1973. Following Devine's death, Findlay married Charles Findlay and would subsequently be the partner of journalist Arthur Milligan (b.1935) until his death in 2001. Findlay remained politically active campaigning for workers' and pensioners' rights.
