Biography
Alastair Fowler FBA was Regius Professor of Rhetoric and English Literature at Edinburgh University, 1972-1984, and is now Emeritus Professor. He has also taught at the University of Virginia, and at several other universities. He has published and lectured extensively on a wide range of literary topics, and is a published poet.
